Pack Shack Adventures offers a variety of outdoor adventures for scout troops. Canoeing, Rafting, Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing, are offered by themselves or as a part of one of our guided adventure trips. We have been offering quality outdoor adventures since 1974. Our adventures can be as simple as a demostration at one of your meetings, guiding you on a 5 Day / 50 Mile canoe trip, or even taking your troop on a two week trip to the Grand Canyon. Here's some of what we offer: 5 Day / 50 Mile Canoe Trip Rock Climbing and Rappelling
We have been offering Rock Climbing, and Rappelling since 1974. We are proud of our "no accident" safety record. We are insured and licensed by the National Park Service. Pack Shack Adventures, Inc. will supply all ropes, helmets, harnesses, and equipment that you will need to learn rappelling and climbing correctly and safely. You will learn about equipment and its proper use, climbing knots, safety procedures, belaying, climbing techniques, and rappelling. Our minimum group for this adventure is 12 people. One adult leader from your troop is required for each six scouts. Participants are required to wear non restrictive clothing, and sturdy footwear with non slip soles. Participants should bring a bag lunch, with plenty to drink.
Ropes CoursePack Shack Adventures, Inc. offers a ropes course through East Stroudsburg University. These are individually customized programs, so if you are interested please contact us at (570) 424 - 8533. Introduction to KayakingPack Shack Adventures, Inc. offers a basic introduction to kayaking, geared especially for scouts! The program is designed to give scouts a friendly introduction to the sport of kayaking. The course covers entering and exiting your kayak, basic paddling skills, wet exits, basic rolling techniques, braces, eddy turns, eddy peelouts, and basic river safety. This river adventure includes a kayak, U.S. Coast Guard Approved Life Jackets, Spray Skirt, Safety Helmet, Double Bladed Paddle, Shuttle to and from the river, Safety Orientation, and a Pack Shack River Guide. Our group size for this adventure is 8 to 10 participants. Two adult leaders are required from your group. Participants should be able to swim, and feel comfortable in the water. Footwear is required. You will need to bring a bag lunch, and plenty to drink.
Cross Country SkiingPack Shack Adventures, Inc. offers several options for your troop to try out and enjoy the sport of cross country skiing. If you would like to try it on your own, you may rent equipment and do your own thing. However, we do find that a little basic instruction goes a long way, when you are first learning (it is always nice to be able to stop and turn.) For those of you wanting instructional package, we offer the following:

Snowshoe HikesSnowshoeing is quickly becoming the hottest way to see the wonders of the winter backcountry. Pack Shack Adventures, Inc. offers half and full day snowshoe hikes, for your troop. Snowshoe hikes are conducted in the beautiful Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area and includes the use of a pair of Atlas® snowshoes, and fiberglass poles. Hikes are led by one of our winter instructor/guides. Participants should bring a water bottle, dress in layers, and carry a daypack (with extra clothes). For full day trips, lunch is included.
